Sony PSP Gets Price Drop ($129.99)

As expected, Sony announced a price drop for the PSP-3000.  The new price is $129.99, which should probably boost PSP sales in the near future.  I wouldn't be surprised if the DSi gets a price drop in the near future as well.

Along with the good news of a PSP price drop, Sony has also added new games to the Greatest Hits collection ($19.99) and the Favorites collection ($9.99).

The following games have been added as Greatest Hits:

Assassin's Creed Bloodlines
Dissidia Final Fantasy
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
Resistance: Retribution
Toy Story 3: The Video Game

The following games have been added as Favorites:

Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Killzone: Liberation
SOCOM US Navy SEALs: Fire Team Bravo
Tomb Raider Anniversary

All of the changes will take place on February 27 and should definitely cause an increase in Sony sales.

  1. I think that this might give Sony that much needed push. It did wonders for the PS2, so it should do wonders for the PSP.

I doubt that Nintendo will slash the price of the DSi without cutting the price of the DS Lite first.

  2. Yeah. You are probably right. I'm surprised the DS Lite hasn't had a recent price cut honestly.
